Description
Located in the Keswick Village neighborhood of Glenside, Pennsylvania, the Keswick Theatre is a significant cultural institution with a rich history. Designed by Horace Trumbauer in the Tudor Revival style, the theater has retained its original appearance since opening in 1928. Originally seating 1,366, the theater was best known for its first public showing of vaudeville and the film Good Betsy on December 27, 1928.
In 1955, the theater was upgraded to show CinemaScope films. Despite temporary closures, thanks to community efforts and new owners, the theater was restored and reopened in 1988. Today, the Keswick Theatre is renowned for its excellent acoustics and diverse live entertainment programme, including concerts, theatre productions and other cultural events.
The Keswick Theatre has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1983 and has been managed by AEG Live since 2008. Visitors can view the schedule and playbill on our website. You can also purchase tickets for upcoming events online.
