Description
Wells Fargo Center is a modern, multi-purpose indoor arena located in Philadelphia. It serves as the home of the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL), Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), and Philadelphia Wings (NLL). The arena is located in the southwest corner of the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, which also includes Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, and Xfinity Live!
Built in 1996 on the site of the former John F. Kennedy Stadium, the arena was built to replace the old Spectrum and cost $210 million, mostly privately financed. The arena is owned by Comcast Spectacor, which also operates it through its subsidiary Global Spectrum.
Throughout its history, the arena has changed names depending on naming rights, beginning with the CoreStates Center and ending with its current name, which it received in 2010 following the acquisition of Wachovia by Wells Fargo.
In addition to hosting games for its primary tenants, Wells Fargo Center has hosted numerous significant sporting events, including the Stanley Cup Final, NBA Finals, and NCAA events. The arena has also been the site of two political conventions: the 2000 Republican National Convention and the 2016 Democratic National Convention. In addition to sporting events, the arena regularly hosts concerts and WWE shows.
The arena has a seating capacity of 21,000 and a standing room capacity of at least 21,500. For information on the schedule and event listings, and to buy tickets, visit our website.
