Moda Center, formerly known as the Rose Garden, is a premier sports arena in Portland, Oregon, United States. The arena is designed to host a variety of sporting events, including basketball, hockey, lacrosse, as well as ice shows, rodeos, conventions, circus acts, and music concerts. The arena's capacity for basketball games is 20,630.
Moda Center serves as the home arena of the NBA's Portland Trail Blazers, as well as several other Portland professional teams and the Portland State University men's basketball team.
Construction of the arena began in 1993 and was completed in October 1995 at a total cost of $262 million. The arena is a precast concrete frame structure with a steel frame roof, with a total area of 79,200 m², divided into eight levels.
The interior is decorated in white, red and black, symbolizing the colors of the Trail Blazers. On the walls hang pictures with the names and faces of players included in the Blazers Hall of Fame, and under the roof hang flags with fixed numbers of outstanding team players.
