PPG Paints Arena is a modern sports arena located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. Opening on August 1, 2010, the arena replaced the aging Mellon Arena and became the first arena in the NHL and AFL to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
The arena has earned recognition as "Best New Large Concert Venue" by the Pollstar Concert Industry Awards and was named "Best NHL Arena" by Sports Business Journal readers. The AFL's Pittsburgh Power also played there from 2011 to 2014. PPG Paints Arena is known not only for its sporting events, but also for its regular WWE wrestling shows, including premium shows such as Royal Rumble (2014), Roadblock (2016) and Extreme Rules (2018).
